Ralph is the actual “leader” of the group. He was chosen because of his appearance and he was the one to gather everyone by tooting the conch horn. Jack is introduced as the choir leader,he had power to begin with by taking responsibility of his choir even before the crash, but he wasn’t chosen to be the leader of the group but he was now the lead hunter. The two boys don’t seem to be showing much respect for eachother and tensions are getting high between the two. They are arguing about how jack can’t actually hunt for meat and his hunting group slacks off, and Ralph is generally frustrated because him and Simon are the only ones that are helping with the much needed huts while everyone else isn’t helping out and wasting time. The two end up having a full blown argument and both end off knowing what they need to work on in order for this society to work out. Piggy is struggling for respect in the group. He has good views on things but nobody seems to be paying too much attention to his opinion on things. I believe piggy will eventually get the respect he deserves. Simon doesn’t have many parts but he seems to understand how crucial this whole survival situation they’re in is just because he’s the only one helping Ralph out with the huts.
I remember when I was younger than I am now, I couldn’t ride my bike without training wheels but I was super determined to learn it, so the next time I was with my big cousin Jacob, he had his bike and I tried to keep up with him without training wheels. At that time I looked up to him and I think that determined me to learn how to ride with two wheels. Within around an hour and a half I learned how to ride it.

The night after Simon’s brutal murder, Piggy and Ralph feel nothing other than discomfort for what they had partaken in. Piggy does not seem to want to own up to his mistakes, he denies the fact that he murdered Simon with the others and tries to sort of sweep the whole situation under the rug. Ralph on the other hand knows what he did and does not feel like he isn’t a murderer, piggy seems afraid of the word murder when ralph tries to tell him that’s what they did, probably because civil ways, laws and rules seem so foreign to their island-survival lifestyle at this point because they’ve been so withdrawn from society. After this, Ralph and Piggy probably feel like they are losing power by the minute because it seems that Jack and his ways are already starting to take over them, they participated in the dance and got so caught up in his movement that they even helped kill simon AKA “the beast” to them at the time.
I remember when I was in elementary on track and field day, the school sorted out everybody by their grade, I was in grade 4 but I wanted to hang out with my friends that were in grade 5, so I just slid in with them and lied to the teacher saying that I was a 5th grader, she believed me. I felt like a big kid at the time because I didn’t even think she’d believe me because i’ve always looked younger than my real age, not older. The only downside was that I had trouble competing with the grade 5s and didn’t even think about how I would have a disadvantage for the rest of the day but lying so I could hang with my friends was worth it.

Ralph and Jack are frequently getting into conflicts between each other, ralph seems to lose hope in terms of everybody working on what they need to, such as when the boat came by the island but there was nobody there to feed the fire/smoke signal, making them miss their opportunity to leave the island that they might die on, their excuse was that they needed everyone to help hunt the pig that Jack and his choir hunted as the boat came by and they’d only had the fire out for about an hour. That makes tension between jack and ralph because ralph ordered jack to have people posted at the fire at all times. Jack and Ralph both have different views on how they want this island to be, Ralph and his plans to organize a civil society on this island seems to be getting held back by Jack’s drive to be savage on this island and it seems many people are more in favor of the way Jack is doing things, I’m sure that most people on the island believe Ralph and his leadership is the right way to solve their problem but it appears Jack’s way is working quite well, they’re being fed pig meat by ganging up on the wild boars on the island, and he has a drive to kill this beast that people are starting to fear. Ever since jack put that paint on his face, he felt like he needed to turn into this wild character and dominate this island and people are beginning to see the power potential that he has. Once this happened, everybody seemed to realize that they are already so far from being an organized society that people are turning into wild humans in a way, it shows hopelessness in the group but also acceptance that they could be stuck on this island for the rest of their lives, so going savage may not be that bad after all.
In grade 7 during lunch/recess I was hanging out with some friends when this fool(initials are N.B.) started to disrespect my friend (Roman) so I stood up to the kid and asked him what he thinks he’s doing, once I did that he grabbed my hat and threw it onto the ground, as soon as he did that I started swinging at him, the fight lasted maybe 30-45 seconds before he got dropped and walked off. (He actually was trying to get Roman to fight him before I started beating on him so I just had to whoop sense into him or else he would continue to disrespect my friend and I didn’t want to see any of my friends getting hurt), he thought that we were easy targets I guess and he wanted to feel like he had power but it turns out he’s a goofy and he lost and just walked away. It really showed how desperate he was for power and people like that need to be put in their place. I gotta say that was probably the most satisfying moment of stanley park for me but I never like getting into a conflict that heated but it just really felt like the right thing to do.

Simon’s insecurities and inability to understand himself led him to be on his own on the island. One morning simon found the dead pilot’s corpse with the parachute flying around in the wind, he then realizes that the corpse is actually the thought to be beast of the island. realizing this, he then picks up the corpse and heads to jack’s territory. At that time, the boys including ralph and piggy have joined each other for food, a few moments later they end up doing this savage dance and all the boys get super worked up. Simon then walks over, but none of the boys notice that its simon holding “the beast”, the boys then all attack him without a thought and brutally kill him along with the secret of what the beast actually is.
Simon turns into a human of spirituality in the book, he sees everyone around him struggling and their whole situation turns into something that Simon doesn’t want, he values life and seems to have developed a spiritual connection between the earth and himself. When simon is in this state, he doesn’t seem to worry about what everyone else is doing because it won’t be the way he wants things, so he proceeds to go his own way without a worry about everyone else and being socially isolated
When I first started working at McDonald’s, they gave me a ton of shifts and fell behind in many classes because of my limit of free time to do anything. I would come home from school, eat, maybe relax for an hour and a half before I had to get my uniform on and head to work. My manager had me working 5 shifts a week including overnights on friday’s which take up two day because you need to sleep until your shift starts at 11, then when it's over at 7am you need to go home and sleep again or else you’ll be absolutely exhausted. So on average I had like a day and a half worth of time to do anything else. I couldn’t see my friends almost ever for around two months, I had a ton of work that I was behind in and I was balancing that w my girlfriend and having time to actually wind down. I wouldn't say I felt all alone or anything but i’d say i was pretty isolated from everything else just because my boss wanted me to cook burgers all week for months.
